2026 American Music Awards Performers and Presenters Revealed

The countdown to the 52nd edition of the American Music Awards has officially begun, and this year’s lineup already looks like one of the biggest music television moments of 2026. From global chart-toppers to legendary hitmakers, the AMAs are preparing a star-powered night that blends pop culture nostalgia with the new generation of music dominance.

Hosted by Queen Latifah, the fan-voted awards show will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25. The ceremony returns to CBS for a second consecutive year while also streaming on Paramount+ in the United States.

One of the biggest talking points surrounding the 2026 AMAs is the explosive performer lineup. Latin music superstar KAROL G will not only perform but also receive the International Artist Award of Excellence, further cementing her status as one of the most influential global artists of the decade. Rising global act KATSEYE, breakout sensation Sombr, soul hitmaker Teddy Swims and multi-talented entertainer Teyana Taylor will also take center stage during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, the AMAs will once again lean into its signature mix of legacy icons and modern stars. Rock legend Billy Idol is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award before performing live. Veteran groups Hootie & the Blowfish and New Kids on the Block also join the lineup, while The Pussycat Dolls and Busta Rhymes are expected to revive their 2005 smash hit “Don’t Cha” in what could become one of the night’s most viral moments.

Country music star Keith Urban will reportedly perform music from his upcoming album Flow State, a project inspired by classic yacht rock sounds from the 1970s and 1980s. Elsewhere, Colombian superstar Maluma, country singer Riley Green and duo Twenty One Pilots add even more genre diversity to the highly anticipated event.

However, fans across social media continue to focus heavily on the announced “special appearance” by global K-pop phenomenon BTS. The group enters the AMAs conversation following the massive success of “Swim,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their appearance alone has already pushed the awards show into trending conversations across X, Instagram and TikTok.

The nominations race remains equally competitive. Taylor Swift leads this year’s nominations with eight nods. Close behind are Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean and Sabrina Carpenter with seven nominations each. Sombr also enters the night as one of the year’s breakout success stories with seven nominations alongside a live performance slot.

Beyond the performances, the presenter list adds another layer of star power. Celebrities expected on stage include Hilary Duff, John Legend, Jason Derulo, Ludacris, Nikki Glaser, Paula Abdul and comedian Gabriel Iglesias. The ceremony will also feature appearances from GloRilla, Leon Thomas and Mariah the Scientist.

In another emotional highlight, Darius Rucker will receive the Veterans Voice Award presented by USAA’s Honor Through Action initiative. The recognition celebrates artists using their influence to support military veterans and their communities.

As streaming numbers, fan engagement and global touring continue to reshape the music industry, the American Music Awards remains one of the world’s most influential fan-driven platforms. Billboard and Luminate determine nominations using streaming figures, radio airplay, album sales, song sales and touring data collected between March 21, 2025 and March 26, 2026.

Fans can still vote for Social Song of the Year and Tour of the Year through VoteAMAs.com and the official AMAs Instagram page during the live broadcast window.

For music fans, pop culture watchers and entertainment media platforms worldwide, the 2026 AMAs is shaping up to be more than an awards show. It is becoming a full-scale cultural moment powered by fandoms, streaming dominance and global celebrity influence.
